Steve Fletcher

Chief Standards Officer

(BEng DipM) Has over 40 years’ experience within manufacturing engineering metrology. He started his career at Rolls-Royce Aerospace in 1976 within the Precision Casting Facilities. Fletch as he is called, received a Mechanical Engineering Degree and achieving the Lord Hives Award. He moved into RB 211 524 and early Trent engine development team working on development civil engines Turbine and combustion modules. Steve then went back to Rolls-Royce Aerospace, as the Global Process Ownerfor Contact and Non-contact measurement solution across all businesses and supply chain, introducing new measurement solution and analysis application with the manufacturing space.​​

Mike Phillips

And his team are systems integration specialists with extensive experience designing, installing, and commissioning advanced inspection solutions for modern manufacturing environments. His work focuses on translating complex inspection requirements into practical, high performance systems that integrate seamlessly into existing production lines. Through Envisage Systems,he brings a vendor independent approach, selecting best in class hardware and technologies from a widerange of suppliers to ensure each solution is optimized for the application rather than constrained by proprietary limitations. Professor Andrew Sherlock

Chief Data Architect

And also is CEO of the Arrol Gibb Innovation Campus (AGIC) at Rosyth, Professor of Practice at the University of Strathclyde, and founder and CEO of ShapeSpace Ltd. His career spans advanced manufacturing, digital engineering, artificial intelligence and technology commercialisation. At ShapeSpace, a University of Edinburgh spin-out, he has led the development and deployment of engineering analytics, product data intelligence and 3D CAD search technologies in industry. He has also held senior roles at the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland, leading data-driven manufacturing and industry facing innovation programmes. His work focuses on translating research and emerging technologies into practical deployment across defence, maritime, aerospace, nuclear and advanced manufacturing, and he is now leading AGIC’s development as a collaborative innovation environment for industry, government, academia and skills partners.
